What's so important about the date? If you will remember on the night of Friday, June 29 everything in Harrisonburg was hot and sultry. A big electrical storm hit the city and downed all the power lines, cutting off power to many of the city residents. Well, the next morning we couldn't have breakfast at the Ramada in Harrisonburg on our way across the country to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The power was out in the lobby. We drove across the street to the Cracker Barrel and found everybody else who lived in the town ---- almost. All the tables were taken up with locals talking about the power being out. The waitresses weren't fazed. They served everybody with lightning speed and no delays no matter what the reason. I've never seen such excellent service. The down home country menu was like comfort food after all that trauma. Everyone in the restaurant that morning thought breakfast was bliss.
