Dora and her mother, Etta May Benley, shop at Harrods in London to restore their wardrobes that went to the bottom of the Irish Sea when the Lusitania sank on May 7, 1915. It was one of the few clothing shops still open in London. Most of the shop girls had become employed in the war effort. All the young men were at the Front.
