I bought this book in February because an English agent wanted me to write a page on book promotion for published authors. I already had ideas of my own that included hiring a book publicist and planning a blog tour. I had recently joined International Thriller Writers and had figured out how to attend the BEA to sign books and how to attend the ALA with an author name card. But I picked up lots of tips from this Kindle book such as filling out a Shelfari page for the book, listing the book with Library Thing, getting a page on Facebook for the book or the author, setting myself up on Goodreads and Book Daily, setting up a Google alert for terms relevant to my blog on my author's website, and creating a photo blog on Twitter.com. I've started to take the authors up on lots of their suggestions. I'm learning my book promotion ABC's. I hope it makes a difference in getting the book published and in selling it.
Note: This book will be at the core of my marketing efforts this year when I publish The Key to Lawrence, the first thriller in my Edward Ware thriller series.
