IHOP Weatherford served a typical IHOP menu with mostly breakfast items interspersed with items like what we ordered —- chicken parmesan with tomato soup. The table was too small for the three of us. The waiter put down big bowls of soup. He said the main course would be out in about a minute and a half. We felt we had to rush with the soup. Otherwise there wouldn’t be room for the chicken parmesan plates on the small table especially since we already had glasses of iced tea.
Only Six Rooms On The Ground Floor:
The La Quinta Abilene might have decent rooms, but apparently it has only 6 on the ground floor? Considering that this is America and not Europe, I don’t know how such a mishap could have occurred. It was almost 100 degrees when we arrived in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. We had 3 cats and 1 dog to take up to the room as well as lots of luggage. The second floor would be VERY impractical. Fortunately at the last minute they came up with a room as we were discussing other options.
The A/C was cold enough, but the breakfast bar was another story all together. I inadvertently burned myself trying to pour coffee from a machine. It wasn’t at all obvious where the hot liquid was supposed to come out. Other guests kept on dropping things. Plastic covers for the scrambled eggs and sausage kept on sliding to the floor and crashing. Trash needed emptied. There weren’t enough tables for all the guests.
We Go There For The Seven Cheese Pizza
We've been patronizing Magpies on Houghton Road for years either getting pizza deliveries, doing pizza takeouts, or eating in the restaurant for lunch or even dinner. But no matter how we get the pizza, we love the 7 cheese either baked for us or take and bake in our own oven. They serve it piping hot on a pizza server sitting high above the table. But you frequently do have to let them know if you want silverware. A perfect accompaniment is root beer. One criticism: They don't have their own restroom for washing your hands when they get sticky. You have to walk next door to Subway instead.
