Before we took a July trip to Santa Fe, we bought a bunch of pirate props including cast iron skeleton keys, pirate hats, pirate treasure chests, golden doubloons, pirate flags with toothpicks to stick in food, and pirate bandanas. We pretended that the pirates were sailing about on the Inland Sea, which by the way this region of the Southwest used to be. It was all very entertaining to some members of our group who wanted to know when we were going to get there. These keys were the most realistic prop. They actually look like something an 18th century pirate might carry around as the keys to his hidden treasure stashed away in a hidden location. They're heavy and seem to be made of metal that looks authentically rusted but of course isn't. Certain juvenile members of our party were sent around to use these keys on all the dresser drawers in our motel room before retiring for the night looking for the pirate stash. Naturally before we returned home we found the golden doubloons (sold on Amazon also). Buy them, have a Pirate Party or an adventure trip, and look forward to lots of fun.
