Since the last novel in the Edward Ware Thriller Series takes the story up to the present year, the next place to go is into the past. The first Edward Ware Thrillers prequel will be Inn at the Crossroads about Edward Ware’s great-grandfather under Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo. When I was in Europe this summer visiiting Waterloo, I also visited Southampton twice. I had the idea of doing an Edward Ware Thrillers novel about Southampton in the Middle Ages when it was being attacked by French pirates. In addition I visited the Varusschlacht Battlefield where Augustus legions were massacred in 9AD twice just outside the town of Osnabruck in Germany. Edward Ware could have an ancestor in that battle, too.
The Edward Ware Thriller Series starts with The Cleopatra Stone. The character Lucius Antonius is sort of like the adjutant of Julius Caesar in Alexandria. At the end of the novel he flees to Britain and settles there where someday his descendants will build Ware Hall.
