caught sight of it as we were trying to get to other tourist attractions in Trier and found ourselves caught at a red light. It proved how many historical attractions the old Roman city possessed. Every street corner seemed to be full of them. And this one bridge --- that by the way did seem to be exceptionally well built --- was no exception. But in Trier many things had to be seen on the run. Parking was rare. As in the case of the Porta Nigra we couldn't get out of the car. We just drove back and forth in front of it a number of times, gawked, and took photos. P.S. This bridge really makes you appreciate those Roman arches.
